SEAI Home Energy Grants
Every grant the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland pays on a home energy upgrade in 2026, and what each one is worth.
- €30,600One Stop Shop Deep RetrofitComprehensive whole-house retrofit through an SEAI registered One Stop Shop. Covers multiple measures to achieve a BER B2 or better.
- €12,500Heat Pump SystemGrant for a heat pump system, including central heating upgrades and a bonus for replacing fossil fuel heating.
- €8,000External Wall InsulationGrant for external insulation cladding on solid or hollow block walls.
- €5,600Windows and DoorsGrant for upgrading to energy-efficient windows and external doors.
- €4,500Internal Wall InsulationGrant for internal wall insulation, also called dry lining, fitted to the inside face of external walls.
- €2,000Attic InsulationGrant for attic or rafter insulation.
- €1,800Solar PV PanelsGrant for solar electricity panels, paid per kWp installed.
- €1,800Cavity Wall InsulationGrant for cavity wall insulation using bonded bead or foam.
- €1,200Solar Water HeatingGrant for a solar thermal system that heats hot water for your home.
- €700Heating Controls UpgradeGrant for upgrading heating controls including thermostats and zone controls.
Each figure is the maximum, which is the detached rate. SEAI sets most grants by dwelling type, so a semi-detached, terraced or apartment claim is lower. Each grant page carries all four.
