Privacy notice
Qualified.ie helps homeowners find SEAI-registered contractors and understand available home-energy grants.
Who we are
Qualified.ie is operated by S5 Ltd, company number 16842049, registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU. S5 Ltd is the data controller for this site. For any privacy question or request, email contact@qualified.ie.
Information we collect
When you request a contractor list through our eligibility checker, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, optional phone number and Eircode, county, property and energy information, and the upgrades you are interested in.
How we use it
We use your information to provide the contractor-recommendation service you requested, including emailing a small list of relevant contractors. We also keep enquiry records so we can operate, troubleshoot and improve the service. We keep an enquiry for 12 months, then delete it.
Your details are only sent to a contractor if you ask us to
By default we do not give contractors your name, email address, phone number, Eircode or property details. We email the recommendations to you, and you decide whether, when and how to contact any of them.
The checker has an optional tick box asking whether you would like matched contractors to contact you instead. If you leave it unticked, nothing about you is passed on. If you tick it, we may pass your enquiry, including your contact details, to no more than three SEAI-registered contractors who are registered for the work you asked about and who cover your county. We record the wording you agreed to and the date you agreed to it.
You can withdraw that permission at any time by emailing us, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did while it was in place. Contractors we have already passed your details to are separately responsible for how they use them.
Enquiries made before 23 August 2026 were collected under a promise that details would not be shared, and they never will be.
Service providers
We use service providers to run the website, store enquiry records, and send the email you request. They process information only as needed to provide those services to us.
Your choices
You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your enquiry information. To make a request or ask a privacy question, email contact@qualified.ie.
If you are listed in our directory
This section is for contractors, BER assessors, One Stop Shops and solar companies who appear on this site. We did not get your details from you, so this is where we tell you what we hold and what you can do about it.
What we publish. Your business or trading name, the SEAI register you appear on, your county and the counties you cover, and whichever of your phone number, email address, website and address that register publishes. Nothing else, and nothing you have not already given to SEAI.
Where it comes from. SEAI's own public registers, and no other source. We use no purchased lists and no data brokers. Each profile page names the specific register it was taken from and the date it was last checked against it. The registers are theregistered contractor search, the BER assessor register, the One Stop Shop listand the solar PV company list.
Why we publish it. Our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f), which are to help homeowners find professionals registered with SEAI for grant funded work, and to be able to run and fund a site that does that. Inclusion in a listing does not mean you have received an enquiry or agreed to take on a project.
Who sees it. Anyone visiting the site, and search engines. We may also include your published register details in the list of suggestions we email to a homeowner who asks for contractors in your area. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass a homeowner's details to you unless they have asked us to.
How long we keep it. For as long as you are on the SEAI register we took it from. When you come off that register, we remove your listing. If you ask us to remove you, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your details indefinitely, and nothing else, purely so that a later refresh of the register cannot put you back.
Asking us to remove you. Emailcontact@qualified.ieand say you want your listing removed. You do not have to give a reason. We will take the page down, block it from returning, and confirm to you when it is done. You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold, or to correct it, and if you would rather stay listed without your contact details showing, we can show a name and county only.
Your details are published by SEAI as well as by us, and removing your listing here does not change SEAI's own registers. Those requests have to go to SEAI.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission atdataprotection.ie. We would rather you told us first, atcontact@qualified.ie, so we can put it right.
